System Requirements

iOS App

  • iOS 16.0 or later
  • iPhone 8 or newer recommended
  • Face ID or Touch ID capable device (optional, for biometric authentication)
  • Active internet connection for upload (works offline, syncs when connected)

Apple Watch App

  • watchOS 10.6 or later
  • Apple Watch Series 6 or newer recommended
  • Paired with compatible iPhone running Determa app

Web Platform

  • Modern web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
  • Stable internet connection required
  • Desktop or tablet recommended for optimal experience

Troubleshooting

Recordings not uploading?

  • Check internet connection
  • Recordings will queue and upload automatically when connection restored
  • Check Settings → Determa → Cellular Data is enabled (if using cellular)

Watch app not syncing?

  • Check Bluetooth connection between iPhone and Watch
  • Open the iPhone Determa app
  • Restart both devices if sync fails

Biometric authentication not working?

  • Verify Face ID/Touch ID is enabled in iOS Settings
  • Re-enable biometrics in Determa app Settings

Managing Your Data

Viewing Recordings

All recordings are available in the Determa web platform on the recordings page after transcription completes.

Deleting Recordings

Saved Recordings:

To delete a recording, visit recordings and click on the recording to open the transcript. There is a dropdown menu with the option to delete the recording. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. The transcript and notes for this recording will also be permanently deleted.

Unsaved Recordings (iOS and Apple Watch App):

You can discard unsaved recordings directly in the iOS or Apple Watch app using the Discard button after stopping a recording.

Account Deletion

To delete your account, email support@determa.co . All associated data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.

Privacy & Security

Determa is designed to support HIPAA compliance for healthcare organizations. When used with a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA), the platform provides the technical safeguards required for handling Protected Health Information (PHI).

Data Encryption:

  • Data in transit: TLS 1.2 or higher encryption for all network connections
  • Data at rest: AES-256 encryption for file storage with customer-managed encryption keys
  • Database: Encrypted at rest using Google Cloud SQL's encryption
  • Mobile devices: iOS platform encryption for local storage
